Fitch Say Turkey Among the Most Vulnerable to Currency Risks

  • Citing the Global Head of Bank Ratings at Fitch, Dunya report that Turkey is one of the most vulnerable countries to currency risks, stating that banks’ access to foreign currency liquidity has become more dependent on the CBRT. Fitch’s director for Turkish banks said that they expect credit growth to slow in the short term given the macroprudential measures.
  • Energy Minister Fatih Donmez will speak in Moscow at 1100BST/1300 local time. Meanwhile, President Erdogan flies to Kazakhstan where he is set to hold talks with Russian President Putin tomorrow.
