Flash Consumer Confidence (Sep........>

EUROZONE DATA
MNI (London)
EUROZONE DATA: Flash Consumer Confidence (Sep 2019) Preview - 15:00 BST 20/9/19
----------------------------------------------------------------------
- Bloomberg Consensus: -7.0; Prev (Sep): -7.1
- Markets look for consumer confidence to pick up by 0.1 pts in Sep following
Aug's drop.
- Consumer sentiment changed marginally throughout this year after it trended
downwards in 2018
- Aug's downtick was led by a deterioration of household's expectations
regarding their general economic situation, while their assessment of their past
and future financial situation improved slightly.
- Recently rising equity prices (historically reasonably well correlated with
consumer confidence) pose an upward risk to Sep's reading.
- Additionally, low inflation, a strong labour market and expansive monetary &
fiscal policies should provide support for confidence.
- However, global uncertainties remain unresolved and continue to weigh on
consumer's sentiment.
