Flat Re-Open

US TSYS

Tsy futures operate around their respective Thursday closing levels after rallying in a holiday-curtailed trading session, although the space finished a little shy of best levels. Cash Tsys were closed on Thursday.

  • Thursday saw the bid derived from the dovish feel to the minutes covering the most recent FOMC decision extend.
  • A slightly firmer than expected round of IFO readings helped cap the space during London hours.
  • Input from ECB rhetoric was two-way in nature, with the accounts of the most recent meeting providing something for the doves, while rhetoric from Schnabel provided something for the hawks.
  • ECB and Riksbank speak provides the highlights of the wider macro docket on Friday, while the COVID situation in China will garner most of the attention during Asia-Pac hours.
  • A quick reminder that cash Tsys and Tsy futures will be subjected to holiday-shortened trading hours ahead of the weekend.
