For Min. Lavrov Says Russia Suspending Mission At NATO-Wires

Wires and social media reporting that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that Russia is going to suspend its Mission at NATO from 1 November onwards.

  • Comes after a number of Russian nationals were expelled from the mission by NATO having been accused of being Russian intelligence officers.
  • Also confirms that NATO's military mission in Moscow will be suspended.
  • The move marks another step in the continued deterioration in relations between Moscow and NATO. Without a permanent Russian presence, the potential for miscalculation between the two sides rises notably.
