Foreign Sec. Raab, WH Adviser Kushner Discuss MidEast, PM 'Drops-In'

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab tweets: "I met with @jaredkushner today. We discussed the historic Israel-UAE deal and UK efforts to encourage Israeli-Palestinian dialogue. I reaffirmed UK commitment to a negotiated two state solution."

  • Meeting with senior White House adviser and President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner comes at the end of a multi-day tour of the Middle East for the latter, following the normalisation of ties between Israel and the UAE.
  • Also confirmed by Number 10 that Prime Minister Boris Johnson made a 'short drop-in' on the Raab-Kushner meeting, raising some questions among media as to the optics of a UK PM meeting with a partisan WH adviser during a US election campaign.
