French Strikes Causing LNG Diversions

Strikes at French terminals are causing LNG tankers to divert according to ICIS. The Maran Gas Olympias was signalling a heading to Montoir on France's west coast, but is now heading up the Channel instead.

  • The vessel is chartered by Shell, who could perhaps deliver the cargo to another terminal nearby such as UK Isle of Grain or Gate in the Netherlands instead.
  • Meanwhile the LNG Sokoto from Nigeria, which was heading to Fos in France, is also now heading towards the UK.
