French Strikes Cut Diesel Supply By 200kbpd

Industrial action in France have cut an estimated 200kbpd of diesel supply according to Energy Aspects.

  • “Strike action is coinciding with refining maintenance in northwest Europe and unworkable arbitrages at key routes,” Energy Aspects said.
  • Diesel arrivals from east of the Suez Canal are expected to remain low through April, down by 200k tons on the month.
  • “Despite the strikes, a thin spring maintenance season means European outages remain 350kbpd below the five-year average at 1.55mbpd in March, supporting diesel supply,” Energy Aspects added.
