Fujairah Fort Refinery Expects August Restart

Fujairah’s 67,000 bpd Fort refinery in Fujairah, UAE, aims to restart production in August according to Argus.

  • It had shut operations in May due to a lack of feedstock, forcing higher fuel oil imports into the port.
  • The refinery typically produces 5mn t/yr of VLSFO and previously sourced crude from South Sudan which has been hit by logistical issues.
  • VLSFO imports into Fujairah rose by 56% y/y May-July to 36,000 b/d to compensate for the fall in local production according to Kpler.
