Q: Monetary policy is not back to normal. How does that make you feel? Could
politicians have done more?
During 2017 policy stance was preparing to exit easy policy. But conditions
changed. If there is one take from the IMF meetings it is that the paradigm of
reference has changed. Not long ago IMF would say rates low for some time and
then go up. Consensus now is that rates will be low for a long time. Draghi
feels like he tried to comply with mandate best possible way.
