Futures Nudge Higher Overnight, Recovering Some Poise After Tuesday Sell Off

JGBS

The modest richening in the U.S. Tsy space allowed JGB futures to regain some poise in overnight dealing, after the contract was pressured during Tuesday’s session (potentially on the back of CTA account flows, identified on Tuesday), which drove broader JGB activity during the Tokyo afternoon. That meant that futures finished the overnight session 5 ticks above Tokyo settlement levels. Wednesday’s local docket includes balance of payments data, the latest eco watchers survey and an address from BoJ Governor Kuroda. On the supply front, the MoF will come to market with 5-Year JGBs.
