FX Futures Volumes Ahead of Average for Second Session

FOREX

For a second session, currency futures volumes sit just ahead of average for this time of day, likely buoyed by the UK bank holiday on Monday as well as month-end propping up activity.

NOK futures are the stand out, with markets among the busiest following the Norges Bank headlines earlier today (Bank to sell NOK in larger size relative to August to meet SWF FX needs), with near 70% of the day's average volume already met pre-NY hours.

  • EUR futures volumes around 12% ahead of average for this time of day
  • GBP futures inline with average
  • JPY futures 14.5% below average
  • AUD futures 6% ahead of average
