Gazprom Meets Additional Flow Requests from Hungary

  • Putin attends an Army Forum later today, inspecting new designs for military hardware. His appearance follows Russia offering to expand relations with North Korea as the Kremlin looks to find more sources for weapons and equipment. Putin said the two countries would “continue to expand the comprehensive and constructive bilateral relations with common efforts” in a message that was reported on North Korea’s state media.
  • Kommersant cite Deputy PM Manturov in saying the parallel imports programme has seen $6.5bln in goods traded since the launch of the scheme. Manturov sees this figure rising to $16 billion by the end of the year.
  • Average daily oil and condensate production dropped 3% on the month to 1.428m tons in the first weeks of August according to sources cited in Kommersant.
  • Gazprom have begun providing Hungary with additional gas volumes on the request of PM Orban, who looks to address winter supply concerns. 2.6 million cubic meters per day in additional flows will persist across August, with negotiations underway for further flow in September.
