German Jan-Oct 2022 Oil Imports Rose 11% YoY

German crude oil import volumes in the first ten months of last year rose by 11.1% on the year, as the economy recovered from the pandemic, monthly statistics from the BAFA foreign trade office showed.

  • Total imports for Jan-Oct last year rose to 73.6mn tonnes, up from 66.2mn tonnes in the same period a year prior.
  • Germany imported 27.2% of all Jan-Oct 2022 imports from Russia.
  • 23.5% of German oil imports during the period were supplied from the British and Norwegian North Sea, followed by 16.8% of OPEC imports.
