German Natural Gas Demand Fell 20% Below Average

German natural gas consumption last week stood 20% below the 2018-2021 average, Bnetza data showed.

  • Demand rose by 1% week on week amid a modest increase in demand from industry. Industrial gas consumption last week stood at 1.086TWh/d, compared with 1.06TWh/d a week earlier. Demand from households and business saw a small dip.
  • German gas reserves stood at 80.05% of capacity as of 28 June, compared with the five-year average of 63.4%, GIE data showed.
