German Weekly Gas Demand Lagged 2018-21 Average 13%

German natural gas consumption last week stood at 3,300GWh/d, 13.1% below the 2018-2021 average, according to Bnetza.

  • German industrial gas use last week stood at 1,706GWh/d, up by 15.6% from the same week last year, but still well below the 2018-2021 average.
  • Natural gas consumption from households and small businesses last week rose to 1,604GWh/d, up from 1,497GWh/d in 2022 but also still below the 2018-21 average.
  • German natural gas reserves stood at 97.96% of capacity as of 28 November, down from 100.07% a week earlier, AGSI data showed. Germany has been interruptedly withdrawing gas from storage since 21 November.
