 See the latest German wind output forecast for base-load hours from SpotRenewables vs Bloomberg’s ECMWF model for the next seven days as of Tuesday afternoon.

  • Both models have similar wind forecasts on 12 February, 14 February and 16-17 February, with the smallest deviation on those days at between 0.09-0.37GW.
  • The largest deviation is seen over 19-20 February as the models are seen diverging, with SpotRenewables estimating wind to rise over 19-20 February from 18 February and ECMWF predicting wind to drop from 18 February. The deviation on those days is between 13-24GW.
  • Despite these differences, both models suggest wind to be on a general downward trend over 12-15 February before rebounding to increase over 16-18 February.
