MAY REVISED DOWN 0.1 POINTS

  • Consumer confidence outlook for June ticked up 0.6 points to -26.0, following May's historic low as the Ukraine war and soaring inflation continue to sap confidence. Confidence remains 0.5 points weaker than the 1-point recovery expected by consensus.
  • Propensity to buy was unchanged, whilst economic and income expectations saw a slight improvement. These indicators remain close to the lows.
  • The German economy remains hampered by persistent supply shortages and disruptions, with semiconductor shortages noted as continuing to halt manufacturing recovery.
