GILT SUMMARY
GILT SUMMARY: Gilts are trading weaker Thursday, with some modest risk appetite
seen in rising equities and Sterling.
- The Dec 18 Gilt future is down 32 ticks at 121.17, near lows, having traded in
a fairly narrow range of 121.15-121.3 so far today.
- Curve is bear steepening, with 10-Yr Gilts underperforming: 2-Yr yield is up
1.5bps at 0.83%, 5-Yr is up 2.5bps at 1.137%, 10-Yr is up 3.4bps at 1.567%, and
30-Yr is up 3.3bps at 1.976%.
- Short Sterling looks heavy at the far end of the strip, with Greens and Blues
off 4 ticks.
- Yet another Brexit deadline: PM May reported trying to get Cabinet to agree on
a withdrawal document by Monday to trigger a summit with the EU at end-November.
The Times reported May hopes to `seal the divorce deal' this weekend.
- Quiet again on the UK data front, with GDP figures out Friday. RICS House
Price balance for Oct came in well below expectations (10% vs -2% survey).
