Global Airline Passenger Capacity Rises 1.34% on Week: OAG

Global airline passenger capacity is set to rise to 114.30m seats in the seven days commencing April 29, OAG said.
- This is a rise of 1.34% on the previous week, making it the largest weekly capacity increase since Feb. 12.
- Domestic capacity is up 0.79% to 67.79m seats, while international capacity is up 2.1% to 46.51m seats.
- The rise on the week is again below expectations, with last week’s forward schedule expecting a rise of 1.84% to 114.86m seats.
- Capacity is undershooting the forecast by 0.561m seats, driven largely by a 0.552m shortfall in domestic capacity.
- Looking at next week’s forward schedule, total global passenger capacity is set to rise by just 0.05% to 114.36m seats.
