Global Airline Passenger Capacity Rises 1.9% on the Week: OAG

Global airline passenger capacity is set to rise 1.9% in the week commencing Feb. 12 to 106.62m seats, according to OAG.

  • International capacity is up 1.74% on the week to 41.15m, while domestic capacity is up 2.21% to 65.47m seats.
  • Global passenger capacity in February is expected to total 404.4m seats, up 13.1% on Feb. 2023.
  • Every region is growing compared to 2023 levels, with the highest growth rate in Northeast Asia, rising by 20.7m seats on the year.
  • Looking at domestic markets, the US – the largest aviation market – is set to rise by 3.7% year-on-year in February. China’s domestic market in February is up by 16.3%, adding 10.2m more seats.
