STOCKS: Global equities rallied yesterday following Fed William's speech that
called for swift action when faced with adverse economic condition. The buoyant
tone spilled over into Asia, but later pared light gains after a statement from
the NY fed that said William's words were aimed at an academic level and not
guidance on behalf of the Federal Reserve.
- The Nikkei 225 led gains, up nearly 2% with the materials and IT sectors
outperforming.
- The ASX 200 witnessed outperformance across the board, Utilities and
Financials the standouts, registering gains of over 1%.
- Nikkei 225 +1.98%, Hang Seng 0.94%, CSI 300 +0.84%.
- S&P 500 futures +9.25, DJIA futures +115, Nasdaq futures +32.
