Global Passenger Jet Fuel Demand to Fall on Week: BNEF

JET FUEL

Passenger jet fuel demand in the seven days to Nov. 13 is set to fall by 3.8% on the week to 6.1m b/d, reversing last week’s moderate rise, according to BNEF.

  • The reduction is driven by falls in Western Europe and Asia, which will each see a decline of 11.1% and 2.6% respectively.
  • Jet fuel demand from domestic flights will fall by 2% on the week, while the reduction in international flight jet fuel demand is a sharper 5%.
  • In China, domestic flights are set to rise by 4.7% in the next four weeks, according to provisional schedules. However, these are subject to late cancellations.
  • China scrapped its health declaration requirements for all passengers on Nov. 1, which is expected to help aid the recovery in North Asia’s international travel demand.
