Global Spot LNG Deliveries Fall Driven By Drop in European Volumes

Spot LNG deliveries to Northwest Europe and Italy have fallen to their lowest level of the last four weeks while imports to the Japan-South Korea-mainland China-Taiwan region remaining subdued, according to Bloomberg estimates.

  • Global spot LNG deliveries have declined for three weeks with around a 40% drop in volumes to NW and Europe and Italy this week to 0.4m metric tons driven by recovering French nuclear power output and healthy gas storage levels.
  • Spot LNG deliveries to the JKCT markets are stable at 0.3m tons last week as demand remains subdued.
  • Total European LNG sendout has fallen from over 400mcm/d early last week down to around 360mcm/d late last week according to Bloomberg data. Maintenance works are reducing sendout from Montoir LNG and Fos Tonkin LNG until 2 July.
  • The surge higher in TTF today has brought the JKM-TTF spread back down to +0.4$/mmbtu from the highest since early June at +2.1$/mmbtu on Friday.
    • TTF JUL 23 up 11.2% at 36.15€/MWh
    • JKM Jul 23 down -4.7% at 11.84$/mmbtu
    • JKM-TTF Jul 23 down -1.4$/mmbtu at 0.39$/mmbtu
    • US Natgas JUL 23 up 0.8% at 2.75$/mmbtu
