GOLD: Gold has stayed in a roughly $6 range through the Asian session, inside of
Friday's range. The yellow metal started the session on the backfoot, trading as
low as $1298.29/oz as Asian equities drifted higher. However, this weakness was
reversed as gold moved swiftly higher as European traders started their day,
moving from $1299.50 to $1304.00 within a 15 minute period.
- Resistance has been found at the 50-dma which comes in at $1304.54 but the
21-dma provides a more substantial level at $1309.25 ahead of the Mar13 high at
$1311.33. Bears look for a move back to the 76.4% retracement of the move from
$1280.94 to $1311.33 at $1288.11/oz.
