Government Announces Financial Assistance For Most Vulnerable

  • Argentina’s government will pay informal workers 18,000 pesos over two instalments and low-income retirees 12,000 pesos in a one-time payment, Economy Minister Martin Guzman said alongside President Alberto Fernandez late on Monday.
    • Guzman said the measures aimed to protect the buying power of the most vulnerable Argentines amid elevated inflation.
    • The economy minister added that Argentina’s primary fiscal deficit in first quarter was about 0.25% of GDP and noted Argentina has met fiscal, monetary targets in Q1 2022.
