Government Sets New Electricity, Gas Prices

  • The government has set new electricity and natural gas prices as of August, according to resolutions in the official gazette. The Economy Ministry detailed a set of separate prices increases for low, middle and high income households that will be in force until October 31. The average monthly electricity bill for middle income households will rise by 4.1% to ARS 17,228, while the average monthly gas bill for middle income households will rise by 4.0% to ARS 32,985.
  • On the data front, government tax revenue rose to ARS 11.911tn in July, from ARS 11.298tn previously, the tax office AFIP said in a statement yesterday. Looking ahead, no macro data are due today, with attention on the latest BCRA analyst survey on Tuesday and June IP and construction activity figures due next Thursday.
