Greenback Trims Some Of Wednesdays Gains

The USD is trimming some of yesterdays gains in early dealing today, the AUD is leading the bid in the G-10 space. US Equity futures are also a touch firmer, and US Tsys have ticked lower as the broader risk-off move unwinds a touch.

  • AUD/USD is up ~0.2% and last prints at $0.6740/45. Despite yesterdays fall the uptrend remains intact, resistance is at $0.6776 High Dec 20 and $0.6821 High Jul 27. Support comes in at $0.6655 Low Dec 14.
  • Kiwi is a touch firmer, NZD/USD is up ~0.1% however ranges remain narrow.
  • Yen remains well within recent ranges, USD/JPY is a touch lower this morning however there has been little follow through on the move lower thus far. Technically support comes in at ¥142.25 Low Dec 19, resistance is at ¥145.26 76.4% retracement of the Dec 11 - 14 sell-off.
  • Elsewhere in G-10 there have been no moves of note, BBDXY is down ~0.1%.
  • The docket is thin in Asia-Pac today.
