Reports from the Wall Street Journal stating that Guyana was invited to OPEC are not true, Energy Intel’s Chief OPEC Correspondent, Amena Bakr, said in a tweet.

  • “Guyana was not invited to join Opec, reports stating otherwise are not accurate”, Bakr wrote.
  • The WSJ on Monday reported that OPEC has been courting Guyana to join the producer group after the country made a transformational oil find.
