The ability of Aussie bond futures to hold recent gains (including just below
cycle highs of 95.445) will have added to the confidence of bulls, which switch
targets higher to 98.45 and 98.560, marking the Nov9 2016 high and the Oct3 2016
respectively. Little should be read into the quiet Monday session, which
provided few new technical signals. For bears, a correction back below the 98.20
level is required to accelerate any downtrend, opening support at the 50- and
100-dmas at 98.186 and 98.033 respectively.
