Heightened Demand Causes Escalation In Loadshedding

Eskom says that "due to higher than anticipated demand, Stage 4 loadshedding will be implemented from 10:00 this morning until 05:00 on Saturday. Eskom will publish another update should any significant changes occur."

  • The escalation in power outages may be related to the return of frosty weather conditions, which boost demand for electricity.
  • Eskom was previously due to implement Stage 2 loadshedding between 05:00 and 16:00 today, before shifting to Stage 4 in the evening.
