Henry Hub Extends Decline After Small Storage Draw

US Henry Hub extends the earlier decline after a smaller than normal storage withdrawal but roughly line with expectation according to the latest weekly EIA data.

  • The EIA weekly gas inventories for the week ending Feb 16 showed a draw of -60bcf compared to the expectation for a draw of -59bcf according to a Bloomberg survey and the seasonal normal draw of -153bcf.
  • The small draw driven by the recent warm weather is maintaining a strong US inventory surplus towards the end of the winter heating season. Total stocks are at 2,470bcf compared to the previous five year average of 2,061cf.
  • US Natgas MAR 24 down -4.1% at 1.7$/mmbtu
  • US Natgas AUG 24 down -1.4% at 2.45$/mmbtu
  • US Natgas FEB 25 down -0.7% at 3.5$/mmbtu
