Henry Hub Falls After Larger then Expected Storage Injections

US Henry Hub extends earlier losses after a larger than expected build in US natural gas storage inventories according to the latest weekly EIA data.

  • The EIA weekly gas inventories for the week ending Apr. 5 showed an injection of 24bcf compared to the expectation for an injection of 11bcf according to a Bloomberg survey and the seasonal normal injection of 11bcf.
  • US storage inventories continue to hold a strong surplus with total stocks at 2,283bcf compared to the previous five year average of 1,643bcf.
    • US Natgas MAY 24 down 4.6% at 1.8$/mmbtu
    • US Natgas OCT 24 down 1.4% at 2.53$/mmbtu
    • US Natgas APR 25 down 0.2% at 3.02$/mmbtu
