Hoegh LNG Sign Second 10-year Time Charter With German

Hoegh LNG has signed the second binding 10-year time charter contract with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.

  • The floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Hoegh Gannet will be located at the Elbehafen LNG project for the new LNG import terminal in Brunsbüttel operated by Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH
  • The vessel will be capable of taking on up to 170k cubic metres of LNG from tankers, converting it into a gaseous state on board and then feeding it into the gas grid.
  • The terminal at Brunsbüttel which is expected to open next weekend will begin operations using an existing jetty before connection via a newly built jetty in autumn 2023.
  • The LNG cargo secured by Olaf Scholtz on his visit to the UAE is on its way to Germany and is expected to arrive in Brunsbüttel at the end of the month.
