Holding Below Session Highs, Ueda & 30yr Auction Still To Come

At the break, JGB futures sit at 144.79, +.12, down from session highs of 144.89. Prior to the break we got to a low 144.74.

  • The BoJ summary of opinions from the October policy meeting provided a variety of viewpoints. On balance they came across as slightly more hawkish, with the YCC tweak seen as needed ahead of further policy shifts. Still, Ueda's comments this week still appear to leave the odds of a near term policy shift as quite low. The BoJ Governor appears before Japan parliament again today.
  • We have 30-yr bond and 6th month bill auctions coming up.
  • In the cash JGB space, the 10yr yield is above session lows, tracking close to 0.85%. Other parts of the yield curve are away from lows in terms of yields as well. The 10yr swap rate is at 1.015% currently.
