Mexico's annual INPC inflation was 4.65% in April, the Mexican National Institute of Statistics and Geography said on Thursday, announcing a figure in line with the 4.63% consensus forecast.
Core inflation was 4.37%, compared to the 4.39% consensus. In March, general INPC was at 4.42%.
"Within the non-underlying index, on a monthly basis, prices of agricultural products grew by 2.32%, while those of energy and government-authorized tariffs decreased by 1.64%. This was primarily due to adjustments in electricity tariffs for the warm season in 17 cities across the country," INEGI said. (See MNI INTERVIEW: Banxico Should Have Begun Easing In '23-Werner)
