Hong Kong Could Be Set for First LNG Cargo

The LNG vessel Maran Gas Coronis could bring Hong Kong's first LNG cargo according to ICIS. It is signalling a course to Hong Kong for 5 May. The Bauhinia Spirit FSRU arrived at the city last month to act as a new import facility fuelling local power plants.

  • The Maran Gas Coronis is carrying a cargo loaded from Ras Laffan in Qatar on 8 April. The tanker stopped off at Beihai in China at the start of May, but still appears to be fully or mostly laden after leaving Beihai, as its draught is still high, suggesting the vessel remains laden.
