House Speaker Cancels Thursday's PM Vote

Parliament Speaker Wan Muhamad Noor Matha announced his decision to postpone the vote to elect the next Prime Minister, which was expected to take place on Thursday. The new date for the vote is yet to be determined.

  • Khaosod reports that the vote has been postponed pending the Constitutional Court's ruling on whether the renomination of Move Forward Party candidate (and parliament's decision to block his candidacy) was constitutional.
  • Wan Noor was supposed to discuss the potential delay with the three House & Senate whips but eventually announced his decision before that meeting.
