According to the new quarterly report from the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iran's nuclear programme has continued to accelerate as the agency fails to oversee Iran's nuclear sites in accordance with the lapsed 2015 JCPOA nuclear deal.
- Key quotes from the report, per Reuters: "Iran continues to breach restrictions on its nuclear activities imposed by 2015 nuclear deal."
- "Iran's stock of enriched uranium is estimated to have grown by 983.7 kg since last quarterly report to 4,744.5 kg."
- "Iran's enriched uranium stock includes an estimated 114.1 kg of uranium enriched to up to 60% purity, near weapons grade..."
- "According to the IAEA's definition, around 42 kg of uranium enriched to 60% purity is theoretically enough, if enriched further, to produce a nuclear bomb."
- "IAEA has installed surveillance cameras at one location in Isfahan where centrifuge parts are made..."
- The report suggests that Tehran has satisfactorily answered questions on uranium particles detected at Marivan and Forfow and states that the agency, "awaits Iran's engagement to complete installation of surveillance and monitoring equipment."
