ICE Cuts European Gas Margin Rates

NATURAL GAS

ICE cuts margin rates on European natural gas to lowest since October 2021 as the volatility from 2022 subsides.

  • The exchange cut the initial margin requirement to trade front-month Dutch benchmark TTF futures by 29% to €19/MWh according to a notice on Wednesday. The margin is a quarter of the levels seen at the peak last year to ease the cost of trading.
  • The margin changes are effective from close of business Thursday and will be reflected in margin calls made on March 10.
