CHINA: In response to accusations by some American tech companies earlier this
week at a hearing in Washington that China forced technology transfers from
these companies before being allowed to invest in China, Commerce Ministry
Spokesman Gao Feng said Thursday that China hopes the United States can comply
with multilateral trade rules. China always highly values intellectual property
rights and is against unilateralism and protectionism, and the U.S. should fully
consider opinions from all interested parties and "exercise caution" before
taking any action against China, Gao said.
