Indian Imports of Russian Oil Jump in November

India’s oil imports from Russia rebounded in November due to a number of refineries coming back online and higher domestic fuel consumption.

  • Figures from Kpler and Vortexa showed a 9% and 5% rise in India's monthly intake of Russian oil in November from the previous month to 1.73 million bpd and 1.68 million bpd.
  • Revised October imports from Russia stood at 1.58 million bpd, according to Kpler and 1.6 million bpd according to Vortexa.
  • Urals is being bought at around a -$4 to -$5/bbl to Dubai – maintaining a competitive advantage.
  • December imports may come in around 1.7-1.8 million bpd or even higher according to Kpler.
