Inflation Slows in June, Driven By Food and Fuels

Austria HICP flash inflation fell to +3.2% Y/Y in June, from +3.3% in May. On a sequential basis, HICP rose 0.1% M/M (vs +0.1% May).

  • CPI headline inflation fell to +3.0% Y/Y (+3.4% May), its lowest level since July 2021. The monthly measure came in at +0.2% M/M (+0.1% May).
  • "Prices for food and fuels in particular are currently driving inflation less than recently."
  • "Price increases in restaurants are also lower than in the past months, but remain well above average."
