Iran and Russia to Discuss Gas Hub

Russian and Iranian companies are discussing the creation of a gas hub in Iran and development of gas fields in the country, according to TASS citing Russia’s Deputy PM Alexander Novak.

  • The Russian-Iranian intergovernmental commission will meet in Tehran on Feb. 28, according to Bloomberg.
  • Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji said that Iran has defined joint projects with Gazprom for $40 billion and is finalizing negotiations to begin these projects soon.
  • In May, Novak said that Russia and Iran were discussing the creation of an electronic gas trading platform in southern Iran.
