Italian LNG Import Terminal Result October 21

Italian state bodies discussed setting up a new LNG import terminal for the country earlier on Thursday in Rome. They will unveil their opinion on a conditional decision on Oct. 21.

  • If the decision is positive, it still has to secure the go-ahead of local communities and the mayor of Piombino, the Italian port where the terminal is due to be moored.
  • Italian gas grid operator Snam purchased the new floating storage and regasification vessel in June and are aiming to make it operational by the end of March.
