Italy refinery increased feedstock of Russian oil

  • Italy imported 450kbpd of crude from Russia this month, more than four times the Feb volume and the most since 2013, according to Kpler, despite EU efforts to diversify away from Russian supply.
  • Two-thirds have headed to a port in Sicily near the Lukoil ISAB refinery.
  • Lenders have stopped providing financing to Lukoil forcing the refinery to rely entirely on its parent company for feedstocks. Before sanctions only 30% of supply was from Russia.
