Italy’s OLT LNG Allocates 3.75bcm Capacity but Seeks Increase to 5bcm

Italy’s OLT Offshore LNG Toscana floating import terminal has full capacity allocated until 2027 according to the operator but is looking to increase capacity for future gas years.

  • Annual regasification capacity of 3.75bcm has been fully booked until gas year 2026/2027 following auctions in the past two days.
  • In October 2022 the Tuscany region approved an expansion to Toscana FSRU up to 5bcm/yr by improving vaporizer efficiencies and optimizing logistics but will not include any plant modifications or new facilities. Final authorisation for the capacity increase is expected in the coming weeks to allow for new slots in future gas years.
