US factory orders fell -0.5% in January, the biggest drop since November 
when new orders plummeted -1.2%. December factory orders were revised 
higher by one-tenth to 1.9% (prev +1.8%). Factory orders excluding 
transportation decreased -0.1%, the largest decline since September, but 
new orders excluding defense rose 1.3%, the largest percent increase 
since August 2018 when orders also rose 1.3%. Durable goods new orders 
were unrevised at -0.2%. Defense capital goods new orders fell -39.8% in 
January, the largest drop since February 2017 when orders fell -57.5%.
