UK DATA: Jan Tax Take Sees 'Borrowing' In Surplus, But Below Year Ago

UK year-to-date borrowing rose in December to GBP44.8bn, currently 
below the OBR's target of GBP47.6bn for the current financial year, with 
2 months of data left to come.  Debt-to-GDP ratio slipped to 72.0% in 
Dec, although up on Jan '19's 71.8%. The Jan surplus was GBP2.1BN less 
than seen in Jan 2019. The Jan 2020 payment to the EU, the last as a 
full member, was GBP2.1bn, a billion more than in Jan 2019.
