  • Japan's industrial production rose 0.2% in September compared with last month. The automobile industry made the largest contribution to the increase while the production machinery industry leading the decrease.
  • Shipments edged up by 0.4% m/m, the first rise in three months, driven by the increase in automobile industry.
  • Inventory decreased for a second time by 1.1% m/m, led by electronic parts/device industry.
  • METI keeps its assessment of production as "up and down" considering the tendency of its production plan.
  • METI sees production will rise 3.9% (revised up from 3.8%) in October before falling 2.8% in November.
