JAPAN: Japanese investors' net purchases of foreign bonds extended into a third
straight week, per the latest weekly international security flow data, although
the pace moderated to Y658.7bn, from the > Y1.0tn seen over each of the previous
2 weeks. Still, the 4-week rolling sum of the measure pushed higher to
Y3.5654tn, the highest level seen since February of last year.
- Foreigners' net purchases of Japanese paper was reasonably steady, at Y397.4bn
in the most recent week, which allowed the 4-week rolling sum of the measure to
edge higher, as foreigners lodged net buying for a fifth straight week.
- Little to report on the stock flow front, with a second week of net selling
registered for both Japanese and foreign investors.
